FACILITIES
Mary MacKillop College has recently completed an extensive redevelopment program.
2012 - After many years of strategic planning, the program commenced with the construction and opening of the Tappeiner Sports Centre in 2012; including refurbishment of the surrounding sports court.
2013 - The completion of the impressive Joanna Barr Smith Centre which hosts a new administration complex, eatery, Home Economics and Hospitality Kitchens, and Bluestones Restaurant.
2014 - A multi-stage redevelopment of the Fitzroy Building (Visual and Art and Textiles complex, classrooms and flexible learning areas), Portland (Science laboratories) Sisters of St Joseph Cultural Centre (Music and Drama Facilities), and MacKillop Plaza (a boulevard and outdoor performance space). These centres were opened in August and have been wonderful additions to our learning spaces.
2017 - Completion of the refurbishment of the Penola Building classrooms. Our renovated learning spaces are open, and flexible and include breakout spaces into the dynamic corridor areas. Each room contains flexible furniture and tech connections, affording great pedagogical opportunities for engaged and deep learning.
2018 - Revitalisation of our Library, which has now become a vibrant engaging, contemporary learning space. The Library is digitally interactive and encourages reading and collaborative learning.
2024 - Construction for the new McCormack Building is
underway. It will feature state of the art general learning areas, with a focus on
Science, Technologies, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, and house a new
Library and Tuckshop space. Upon its completion, the current Library will be
renovated into classrooms and meeting spaces.
Wireless connectivity is available across the campus. |
